Pricing philosophy
Linear's per-seat pricing, roughly $8 to $14 per user per month, applies uniformly, there's no discounted or free guest tier. For an agency bringing clients in as collaborators, every client is effectively a full team member on the bill, which makes Linear one of the more expensive options once you add up team plus clients.
Where it breaks for agencies
Linear's "Customer Requests" feature is feedback intake, a way for customer-facing teams to funnel requests into the engineering backlog. It's not an approval workflow, and it's not designed for a client to sign off on a finished deliverable.
Linear's AI features are aimed at engineering workflows, triage, summarization, code-adjacent tasks. None of it touches the approval-to-billing loop, because Linear isn't trying to be a client delivery tool.
What we otherwise really like about Linear
Linear is, hands down, one of the fastest and best-designed issue trackers for engineering teams. The keyboard-first workflow, the cycle planning, the sheer speed of the interface, it's a joy to use if your team ships software. If your delivery team already runs on Linear for the engineering side of client work, there's no need to switch. Keep client approvals and billing in Scopeyard and let Linear do what it's best at.
